Return & Refund Policy

At Dycoat, we want your project to turn out perfectly. We stand behind the quality of our solid wood legs. However, we understand that sometimes a style might not match your vision, or the height isn’t quite right. This policy outlines how returns and refunds are handled for domestic (US) and international orders.

1. Return Window

You have 30 days from the date your package is delivered to request a return.

  • If 30 days have passed since delivery, unfortunately, we cannot offer you a refund or exchange.

2. Eligibility for Returns (Crucial)

To be eligible for a full refund, your items must be in “New & Unused” condition. Specifically:

  • Uninstalled: The legs must not have been screwed into furniture. Once a screw has been driven into the wood or the hanger bolt has been installed, the item is considered “used” and cannot be returned.

  • Unmodified: Raw/Unfinished wood legs must be free of any stain, paint, oil, or sanding marks.

  • Original Packaging: Items must be returned in the original box with all protective dividers and hardware pouches.

Non-Returnable Items:

  • Custom-modified items (if applicable).

  • Items marked as “Final Sale” or “Clearance”.

  • Items damaged due to customer misuse or improper installation.

3. The “Nature of Wood” Disclaimer

Please note that wood is a natural material.

  • Grain & Color: Variations in grain pattern, mineral streaks, and color tones are inherent to solid wood (especially Walnut and Cherry) and are not considered defects.

  • We cannot accept returns as “Defective” solely because the grain pattern does not match the product photo exactly.

4. Return Shipping Costs

A. Defective, Damaged, or Wrong Item (Our Fault)

If you received damaged wood, the wrong size, or missing hardware:

  • We cover the cost. Please email us within 72 hours of delivery. We will provide a prepaid return label and ship out a replacement immediately.

B. Change of Mind (Your Choice)

If you ordered the wrong height, wrong style, or simply decided not to proceed with your project:

  • Customer Responsibility: You are responsible for the return shipping costs to our facility.

  • International Customers (UK, EU, AU, CA): Please be aware that shipping items back to the USA can be expensive. We recommend checking shipping rates with your local carrier (DHL, FedEx, Royal Mail, etc.) before initiating a return.

5. Refunds & International Taxes (DDP)

Once your return is received and inspected at our Pelham, NY warehouse:

  • Processing Time: Please allow 3–5 business days for inspection.

  • Refund: We will refund the full Product Price to your original payment method within 7 business days.

  • Duties & Taxes (International): Since Dycoat pays the Import Duties & Taxes on your behalf (DDP) to get the package to you, these fees are non-recoverable from the customs authorities. Therefore, we refund the value of the goods, but we cannot refund the cost of the duties we already paid.

6. How to Initiate a Return

Please do not send items back without contacting us first.

  • Email Us: Send a request to support@dycoat.com.

  • Include: Your Order Number and reason for return.

  • Approval: We will reply with a Return Authorization (RA) number and instructions.

7. Damaged Upon Arrival

If your package arrives crushed or the legs are chipped:

  • Inspect Immediately: Please check your items upon arrival.

  • Report: Email us at support@dycoat.com within 72 hours with clear photos of the damage and the shipping box.

  • Resolution: We will send a replacement set free of charge. You typically do not need to return the broken items in this case.

8. Cancellation Policy

Our warehouse processes orders quickly to meet our “Ready-to-Ship” promise.

  • Cut-Off Time: You may cancel your order for a full refund before 2:00 PM ET (Eastern Time) on the day of purchase (or the next business day if ordered at night).

  • After Shipping: Once the shipping label has been created and the package handed to the carrier, we cannot cancel the order. You will need to receive it and follow the standard Return process.
